Hello there again

Sorry I have been lax in my updates, but am back with you all now.

Writing is going well and the world my characters inhabit is growing as we speak. Do any of you know of the genre Steampunk well if you read my book you will get a HUGE chunk of it.

Steampunk is described as a genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery rather than advanced technology."

I hope you are going to embrace my interpretation of this genre and we will explore this new world together. I really believe that the mix I have envisaged will thrill you all, and make this series somewhat apart from others.

A Review of Hybrid by Vanessa Wester

As promised I have read and reviewed this wonderful book by Vanessa Wester and really can recommend this I gave it a well deserved 5 stars

This book is introduced with a prologue, which initially I didn't understand, but it really helped once the main story began to unfold

The opening chapter of Hybrid begins with our introduction to one of the main protagonist, Caitlin, and gives a narrative about her first semester at University and attempts to settle in on campus. We also begin to meet quite a few of the other minor characters and these fill out the narrative rather nicely.

Before too long we are then become acquainted with the main protagonist of the piece (and her eventual love interest) Steven.

From the first description we have of Steven it is obvious that he is a very special individual and this draws you in and piqued my interest as a lover of all things paranormal.

The attraction between the two is almost tangible and instantaneous but not at the cost of the storyline in this instance.

They gradually develop into "an item" and then their romance is cut short by the appearance of some of Steven's long lost and also unknown family members, and with that a history that he cannot run away from. The consequence is that all their lives are altered irrevocably and also apparently forever.

This story has a twist in the tale regarding the "vampires" in this story as it takes a refreshing slant on the usual vampire tale, which is ultimately explained extremely well.

I loved this book and especially the detail regarding Freshers week and it took me back to my own memories of that time at University.

I was captivated and finished the book in short shrift and was compelled to immediately download the second in the series "Complications"

A thoroughly well deserved 5* and an author to look out for in the future

I look forward to any views you have for Steampunk, so don't be shy and post some comments here

Bye for now

Hello there

and a good morning to all my friends out there.

As you can see I now have a new Avi, this ties in with my Twitter feed over on

and I would love you to visit and perhaps we can chat sometime.

Each week I will be adding reviews and recommendation of the various books that I have read, so please look out for them.

I read a wide variety of books as I am a multi-faceted individual (much as yourselves), so expect to see anything from fact to fiction and from thriller to sci fi.

There so many marvellous genres such as fantasy, sci fi, thrillers, erotica, historical romance (I could go on).

I hope to entertain you and persuade you to try something different from your usual fare (variety after all is purported to be the spice of life)

Meanwhile plans are moving forward for the cover artwork of my first book, and as such a photo shoot is being arranged of myself posing as the heroine. The artwork will either be one of the actual shots or artwork to be produced based on those shots themselves. The issue is still open for debate.

I am hoping to commission some artwork on this basis. This in turn will mean it may become available at a later date to the public as prints

Of course I will retain the original and hope to display this in my home.

From time to time I will be recommending a Blog or two, so keep your eyes peeled.

Today I have two Blogs to recommend to you.

The first Blog is by Vanessa Wester, a published author and the writer of Hybrid,The Evolution Trilogy

This charts the journey taken by Steven Thorn when he discovers he is a member of the next evolutionary stage of mankind. The difference being that he is a Hybrid - half new breed, half human.
Throughout the Trilogy we meet and find out about this new community of individuals.  These special people have vampiric tendencies and are exceptional in many ways.  They are a family, they look out for each other, they keep to themselves, and they care for one another.  Generally, they stay away from humanity, but this is all set to change.
The next stage of evolution is complete, and the new members of humanity will come face to face with their ancestors.
In Hybrid, Caitlin Chance and Steven Thorn's meet at University and fall in love at first sight. However, when Steven is discovered they are forced to separate. Steve is taken to the community and his fate is sealed. He is not normal and his choices are restricted. An accident will change this, his life is about to get complicated...
In Complications, Steven gets to know his grandparents and comes face to face with the reality of his mother's internal struggle. His mum, Emily, has a dark side that once exposed reveals her true nature. It turn out she is the main reason they can not live amongst humanity. However, when Steven manages to convince his grandparents to return to England, he is reunited with Caitlin, and then events take a further twist. It makes the return to the community imminent...

In Return (to be published in 2013) the future for the community, Caitlin and Steven is revealed...

I am currently reading this fantastic book and will be sharing my review with you soon (I am loving this book)

The second Blog is The Grumbling Gargoyle which is Gothic horror, their latest Blog includes an intriguing short story about Valentine's day. So go and visit these and bookmark them for future visits (you know you want to

Here's hoping that you all have a satisfying and wonderful day.

See you soon and bye for now.

Title for first book

Hi all

Hope you all had a good week-end - I know I did.

Once again it is snowing here in England and getting deeper by the minute too. We Brits aren't very good at unusual - any snow, wrong leaves on the railway lines! etc. We tend to go to "Hell in a handcart" here, especially when presented with a different situation or "unusual" weather. That is  unusual to us as we are quite accustomed to rain here, funnily enough. So there will probably be no food in the shops later today!

It is open to change but I think I have finally decided on a title for my first series of books, and especially the first book whoop whoop big round of applause please.

The series will entitled  Dragon Queen and the title of the first book is currently The Prophecy Unfolds (Dragon Queen) ,as usual criticism is welcome and invited.

Without criticism  no one would improve, particularly if it is constructive criticism. So step up to the plate and give me your valued opinions. I promise to listen to you.

Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.

I will also offer the first chapter of my book for your perusal once it is edited and  proofread but please be patient for now. Meanwhile I will soon begin to post some quotes from the book to give an indication of the quality of writing to expect. I hope you will enjoy then just as much as I did writing them.

The book that I am reading at the moment, and will share my thoughts on and review, is The Train of Arousal by James Lusarde and might I add that  this gentleman is an extremely talented wordsmith.

The narrative is so detailed and his use of imagery is superb so expect a good review.

James also has a website

but remember this website is for adults only, I think you will find it intriguing, I know I did.

Here's hoping you all have a great day and I will be here again some time tomorrow to provide any updates and reviews that are available then.

See you all soon and be good (if you can't be good then be careful)

Bye for now.

So Excited

Well as you can see by the title of my new post I am very excited!

Writing is going beautifully and hopefully the first draft of the first book in the series Dragon Queen will be completed and proofreading and editing will begin

Currently I am working on a map of the land this series is set in, which is proving pretty tricky (have you ever tried to make a map?) So watch this space because I will preview it here and you will be the first to see it and I would love some constructive criticism please..

Once again in England I have woken up to an amazing white world, the snow isn't too deep yet but the snow continues to fall. So beautiful to see snow fall and mesmerising too. Snowmen to build and snow angels to make later

Yesterday evening I read the book called "Everyone Burns" by the charismatic John Dolan and gave it a well deserved 5* rating. Below are my thoughts on this thrilling book.

The main character in this book is David Braddock a British expat living and working as a counsellor and erstwhile private investigator on the island of Sumai in Thailand.

I found this book compelling and difficult to put down as the storyline had so many unexpected twists and turns.
Previously when reading a "murder, mystery" I have been able to work out who the main antagonists were as the plot unfolds but on this occasion I was mistaken a number times, therefore could only continue reading and wait for the story to reach its conclusion

Thailand is described in all it's exotic and dusty splendour and the characters are truly entertaining. David in particular is a humorous yet flawed character and a bit of a "naughty boy" but who can resist a "rascal" certainly not me.

The ending proved unexpected - but you'll have to read it to find out why.

I can thoroughly recommend this murder, mystery and have no hesitation in giving this 5 stars and look forward to the next book in this

That's all from me for now, please visit me again and we will speak soon

Well where to start, my name I suppose.

My name is Scarlett and I am a writer currently in the process of completing my very first book.

The book is an erotic paranormal romance introducing a whole new world on the planet Syros. This planet has Werewolves, Dragons, Dragon Riders, Magic and much, much more.

The heroine of this book is Alexandria (Alex to you) and she has auburn hair and blue eyes (just like me!) and lives on the planet Earth, that is until she is kidnapped and taken to this whole new world of mythical, sexy characters where she has amazing adventures and many erotic and life changing adventures too.

I will also be adding my own personal recommendations of books and Blog sites for my friends who visit me here to follow

So please keep visiting and I hope I can provide with an entertaining and provocative time
