Moon Sworn available for preorder New Release from J F Holland

 Author Bio

I still live in the small town in Manchester, UK, where I was born at home on January 10th 1968.  I was raised and attended school here. Now a wife and mother, I live with my husband and 6 children, and a small menagerie of animals.

I've always loved the underdog, the fighter. But let's face it, we all want to believe in a happily ever after. As a huge fan of books (book nerd is the endearing term, my children use). I have an immense romance collection which also includes paranormal romance. If I'm not writing, I've got my head stuck in a good book.

You can't beat reading, watching the plot and characters come to life in your imagination. It's so much better than television. When I was younger, I tended to re-write books and fairy-tales where I wasn't completely happy with the ending. It confused the hell out of my children once they learned to read. None of the books matched the stories I'd read them growing up.

I had a varied career including Admin, Customer Service, and Teaching unemployed adults IT and customer service skills. Until I became ill a few years ago, and I'm now at home full time, classed as disabled (neuro fog can make life, and writing fun sometimes). So instead of feeling sorry for myself I decided it was time I started to do something I love with my life. So I began to write my own stories, it keeps my mind active and is fun, and I now ready to share. I'm happy to receive feedback about my books (stories)

The Blurb / Synopsis

Maya Rawlings was orphaned and knows nothing of her family history. She's spent her whole life feeling that there's something missing. All she wants is to belong and to have a family of her own, the only problem with that is she's not found a man she's attracted to.

On the night of her 21st birthday, a strange mark appeared on the back of her hand, half a semi-circle within another. Then the nightmares began, scenes of fear, running for her life, death and destruction, all followed by the darkly erotic voice of a man offering her things she's always dreamed of. Is he real or is she finally losing her mind?

Jaden Matthews has been on this earth for longer than he cares to remember. A loner who never settles in one place for too long. One night his life changes though as the mark appears on his hand that signifies his mate has been born. He now has 21 years to wait for her to mature and then the clock will start ticking. If he can't find and bind her to him before the last full moon sets on her 26th birthday, he'll not only lose his humanity, but also his immortality.

The only problem is he doesn't know where to find her. Although he can talk to her in her dreams he has to be careful because she isn't aware that there are more than humans walking the earth. He's running out of time and patience, but he's getting closer. Can he use his skills to get her to agree to the binding, thus saving himself or will he forever be destined to walk alone as the animal he becomes?

excerpt:- (profanity included)

Jaden woke with a start growling low in his throat. His eyes still glowing with his annoyance, the pupils slatted and making the amber brighter. He pushed his thick wavy, black hair off his wide forehead. It was getting long again, maybe it was time for another shave? Not that it'd do him much good it'd be grown out again within a fortnight. He lay in the bed broodingly staring at the ceiling, trying to picture what she looked like because he didn't have a clue? He still couldn't quite get a feel for where she was but he was definitely getting closer. The telepathic link between them was becoming clearer, stronger. The only problem was it was taking too long and his patience was running out. He sighed and wiped a hand over his face, and felt the edge of his fangs. Fuck, he was shifting now whether he wanted to or not. His vision was also switching between normal and heat banding's, which wasn't a good sign. Well not according to the old laws. It meant he only had another few weeks at the most, and then he'd be out of time and shit out of luck. Fucking prophecy, why the hell couldn't it have bypassed him?

Groaning he pushed up from the bed and padded over to the mirror over the dressing table. Using his index finger her lifted his top lip to get a closer look, yep, fangs were definitely still there. He let go of his lip and held onto the edge of the dresser in the hotel room, head hung down low and took a couple of deep, calming breaths. Frustration wasn't doing him any favours either, sex kept him on an even keel and helped to keep his animal side in check. He could do with a woman about now, pity their bodies, human or animal didn't respond to anyone but their mate, well, once they reached maturity at 21-years old that is. It was a free ride before then, and he'd taken many a turn on that merry-go-round.

Joe Symes and the Loving Kind - playing at Manchester Author Event 2016 Review

Joe Symes and the Loving Kind are a three piece band from Liverpool in the UK and I had the privilege of seeing them play live back in April 2014 at a charity event for Salford City Radio 94.4 in The Crescent Pub in Salford.

The band was founded on the 1st of January 2013.

I knew the venue quite well as I was a nursing student at Salford University just across the road.

Described as an acoustic rock band the line up back then was a five piece but is now a three piece band.  The line up is Joe Symes  lead vocalist,Guitars, Harmonica , Colin White on  drums, percussion, backing vocals and finally Stefan Bujak on bass guitar.

Since the release of their debut album in 2013, the band have embarked on a non-stop journey all over the UK, performing in cities and towns from London to Glasgow. Taking their self-titled debut on an assault around the country has seen them pick up some major support slots including The Blockheads, Dodgy, XTC, Bloc Party and Alt-J, as well as hitting the Festival circuit, and coming to the attention of Creation Management’s Alan McGee. The album has also been greatly received in America, and had magazine and airplay all over the world.

With the release of their new single, Things Get Better, the band showcase how they have evolved, formed from more increasingly energetic live performances, with a heavier sound, but still keeping their distinctive feel found on the first album. Things Get Better has already begun to attract attention at home and abroad, being featured on BBC Introducing, being played at Anfield (Liverpool FC) on match days, as well as already having some International airplay

Not every band gets the privilege to play at NOEL GALLAGHER and The High Flying Birds Official After Show Party but JOE SYMES & THE LOVING KIND did and when you hear them you’ll know why!

Joe Symes And The Loving Kind have also had the privilege of supporting STEVE CRADOCK (Paul Weller / Ocean Colour Scene) at the 02 Academy, Liverpool and also THE BLOCKHEADS at the iconic Erics in Liverpool. At the Scala, London they shared the stage with BLOC PARTY, ALT J and XFM.

Joe Symes And The Loving Kind brilliant debut album released in 2013 came to the attention of Oasis manager ALAN McGEE who immediately booked them onto his 359 Records night at District, Liverpool.

They are once again playing the aftershow party so if you would like a ticket contact them as soon as you can

The band are a mixture of The Beatles, Kinks, and with their own inimitable styling. The tracks on the album are all a little different. With some psychedelia for good measure.
A fantastic versatile band to be sure and one to watch

Anyone still wanting tickets can obtain them via the Paypal link on their website

Joe Symes & The Loving Kind new album on the way soon, you can buy their last release on CD now from their website

The band made it to the Top 25 Indie Albums of 2015 on the WM Webhost Magazine Site - Musicians that rock the world.

You can find the bands here:

Make sure you get tickets for the
